Ranging from simple to complex, we treat an array of health issues.
Chiropractic and massage are a part of a healthy lifestyle for maintaining the body and reducing stress associated with everyday living. Our doctors treat simple cases such as neck, back, shoulder, or knee pain. We also treat patients suffering from complex issues such as chronic pain, anxiety, traumatic injuries, autoimmunity, fatigue, and depression.
Meet Dr. Mark Algee
Dr. Algee is our main doctor who is both a Chiropractor and a Chiropractic Continuing Education Instructor. He has treated an estimated 25,000 patients in his 20 year career in 6 countries on 3 continents. Read his Google reviews or watch his YouTube videos to have a better understanding of his easy going personality and methodical treatment style.
Dr. Algee is a native of Ventura (San Buenaventura), graduating from Buena High School in 1989. When Dr. Algee was young he participated in sports such as wrestling, martial arts and weight lifting which gave him an appreciation for muscles, movement, and injuries. Yes, injuries happened to Dr. Algee at a young age. Those injuries’ affected his knees and his low back, which prevented him from enjoying sports. His chiropractor helped him to get back into ‘the game’ of living life.
After serving in the United States Marine Corp he worked as a nutritional consultant, personal trainer, and massage therapist while he pursued his education in business. During his business education he, realized managerial accounting did not inspire him, switched his educational pursuits towards his life long passion of the human body. Those previous skills in sports, movement, nutrition, health and touch would benefit his future patients.
In 2002 he graduated from Southern California University of Health Sciences (SCUHS), earning a degree of Chiropractic as well as being the Student Representative for Standard Process of California (a nutritional company).
Dr. Algee has traveled and treated patients in The USA, Jamaica, Africa, Mexico, and India, always as an emissary for chiropractic and its healing benefits. He brings an unparalleled amount of experience to each and every patient visit and has been rated in the top three chiropractors in Ventura for the past 4 years.

Why should I choose De-Stress Chiropractic?
There are a lot of great doctors out there so this is a valid question. Dr. Algee is one of only a handful of chiropractors who are trying to get the timing, firing, and coordination of your nervous system to a level that’s close to perfect. Simple chiropractic ‘cracking’ can never achieve this goal. To properly coordinate the proprioceptive inputs, primitive reflexes, tonic neck reflexes, cross cord inhibitory reflexes, muscle inputs, emotional states, cranial faults, vestibular nuclei, joint dysafferentation, and energy productive abilities of your Krebs’s cycle takes a skilled and meticulous practitioner. When the sequencing of your system is functioning at that level you will feel better, move better, feel more alert, more present, calmer, less nervous, less anxious, and you can actually ‘feel’ your body. It is an enjoyable sensation.
What Style of Chiropractic Technique do you use?
This is a question Dr. Algee receives often. At it’s core it is a chiropractic/massage combination, utilizing chiropractic neurology, balance testing, muscle testing, massage, and trigger point therapy. The application of his style changes depending on his patient. For example, the force, pressure and strength used to treat a mature female is going to be vastly different from the way these techniques are applied to a young male. Here are two links showing the different use of these styles on different patients.
How Many Visits do I need?
Treatments are evaluated on a case by case basis.
Simple injures are fixed very quickly ranging from as few as 1-2 weeks.
Mildly complex injuries range from as few as 2-6 weeks.
Complex chronic conditions or head trauma, are going to require treatments over a few months.
You, and the doctor, will know after your first visit if our office can help.
If you are suffering from a complex health problem, and visiting from out of the area, will treat you 2-3 times per day to maximize your treatment time.
How often should I come?
Most of us are not in pain at all times. However, unless you have achieved enlightenment, and live in a Zen state of being, most of the world is under an extreme amount of stress.
Pandemics, food, exercise, gas, weather, politics, cost of living, deadlines etc……
Stress contributes to pain and diminishes one’s quality of life. We aim to reduce your stress which in turn reduces your pain. De-Stressed individuals think more clearly, are more at peace, experience an internal calm, and sleep better.
Ultimately you will decided how often to come. Some patients come once a month other patients come once a year.
